The Cultured Wanderer
Yet another grab from summer 2011. This is the omamori - good luck charm - I picked up as a testament to having made it to the top of Mt. Fuji for the second time.
The large characters at the top right: Charm for a Day of Great Luck
Top center in the sun: Peak of Mt. Fuji
Lower right going down: Fujisan Choujou Sengen Taisha or, roughly, Mt. Fuji peak shrine
Down the left side: As the sun does rise, so too shall your luck climb.
Interesting pun on climbing and the sun rising - both verbs are the same pronunciation in Japanese but have a few different possible kanji choices.
